Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe says Sri Lanka has become a pivotal hub in the India Ocean through the implementation of new foreign policy of the government. The government was able to solve the Geneva issues in a peaceful manner. Further the government was able to regain the GSP plus status through successful discussions with European countries. The Premier made these remarks at a certificate award ceremony of the 23rd batch of Bandaranaike Center for International Studies held last evening at BMICH. Addressing the gathering the Premier further said the government has paid attention to develop the infrastructure facilities. The government plans to construct highways from Kandy to Hambantota, Kurunegala, Dambulla and Trincomalee to facilitate further development activities of the two ports and international airports of the country.
191 diploma and higher diploma holders received certificates at this ceremony.
