Minister Sajith Premadasa says, the forthcoming presidential elections will be a “turning point” for the future.
He emphasizes that he will create a Sri Lanka in which rulers do not confine themselves to mansions, but go out on to the streets and join with the strength of the citizens, to bring about a prosperous country.
Speaking at a rally held at the Sanath Jayasooriya Grounds in Matara yesterday, the Minister said, he will present a national security programme, a national economic programme and a number of programmes to unite the country consolidating its unitary status and to bring about prosperity to the citizens.
There will be no room for political “best-friendships”.
He pledged to work night and day to create a strong motherland, after the citizens take a decisive decision, at the “turning point” this December.
It was significant to note, although the Sanath Jayasooriya Grounds was soaked by over 15 hours of rain, a massive crowd attended this rally. These rallies are being organized to promote Minister Sajith Premadasa, to be nominated as the presidential candidate of the United National Front.
Meanwhile, Minister Mangala Samaraweera says, within the next two weeks, the UNP presidential candidate will be announced at Galle Face Green, amidst all representatives of all progressive parties that surround the United National Party
