Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe says, even amongst various challenges over the past 4 years the government was able to bring about reconciliation and economic development, thereby, guaranteeing a sense of trust on Sri Lanka.
A culture of good governance was introduced, even though certain conflicting ideologies and certain personality cults sometimes prevented targets from being achieved.
Expressing his views at a programme held at the Temple Trees yesterday, the Premier noted, there have been governments that have boasted of a two thirds majority in the past, but have been unable to address the issues of the citizens.
All they did was, when it was evident that they couldn’t resolve pressing issues within their term of governance, they would call for an election!
However, Prime Minister Wickremasinghe emphasized, he will take the present government forward, until its tenure is complete, and thereafter, under a UNP government, the country will see a ten-fold development
