Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka says that a proper economic council and a smart security programme are needed to make Sri Lanka a developed country. He said that the government expenditure should be properly managed and there should be social justice when imposing taxes. The Minister said this while attending a function yesterday at the Nelum Pokuna theatre in Colombo to introduce the path for the country’s future. He said that salary increments should be given according to merits. Police, judiciary and prison services should be made professional entities. He further said that the country needs more practical aspects at present. He emphasized that the world economic center of gravity is in Asia after 200 years and Sri Lanka should obtain maximum benefits by this development.
